Development of an Electronic Board to Control Up to 9 EGR Valves

VALEO MTEGR New Project

This project involves designing and manufacturing an electronic board capable of controlling up to 9 EGR valves of different generations (analog sensors or SENT bus).

The objective is to integrate this board — consolidating 9 chopper functions onto a single PCB — into a 19″ 6U rack alongside a CompactRIO system. The scope covers the full development cycle: specification, routing (CAD Cadstar), mechanical design, and wiring.

Key challenges include reducing wiring costs and implementing a per-channel valve type selection system. The project culminates in the production of a prototype followed by a series run of 10 racks with screen-printed front panels.
