Embedded Software Development for Degraded Mode Control (SECU) of a Cardiac Prosthesis
CARMAT SECU Project
This project involves the development of an embedded software for degraded mode control (SECU) of the CARMAT cardiac prosthesis. Developed in C language on a Texas Instruments DSP, the software must ensure autonomous control of blood flow to maintain a stable and patient-adapted heart rate. The scope includes UML design under Rhapsody, software specification, and full requirements traceability under DOORS.
The project complies with stringent medical standards (ISO 13485, EN 62304) with a very high level of unit testing and validation (100% MC/DC coverage). The ultimate objective is to guarantee the safety of the ventricular assist device under critical operating conditions.
