This project consists of managing the storage/unstorage of surplus renewable energy production (wind or solar) in batteries. The de-storage can be done at another location in the Transmission System (TEN). The functions of the system are to protect, monitor and remotely control High Voltage (HV) and Extra High Voltage (EHV) transformer stations
Mediane Systeme worked on the software and HMI embedded in the Protection & Control systems, from the drafting of the protection plan and specifications to the validation and commissioning of the software.
The application required the implementation of an IEC 61850 Manufacturing Messaging Specification (MMS) communication protocol and Report Control Blocks.
Particular attention was required to produce a robust and high-performance software package to meet the challenges of the project.
